Neil Petrie
Consultant Pharmacist

Neil qualified from the Victorian College of Pharmacy in 1985 with his first appointment being in the pharmacy at Prince Henry’s Hospital, Melbourne. After working as a locum in rural Victoria, he owned and operated a community pharmacy in Highett, implementing forward dispensing and pharmaceutical care, before establishing his consultancy. He was accredited as a consultant pharmacist for undertaking medication reviews in residential care facilities in 1998.
Neil is widely appreciated for the research, professionalism and forward thinking of his presentations to pharmacists, general practitioners, community groups and aged care staff on a variety of topics. With a particular interest in Quality Use of Medicines and care of people with dementia, he has developed a number of resources to support these ideals.
He has been a member of numerous Medication Advisory Committees, including Chair of one regional MAC. He has served on a number of other committees with the National Prescribing Service, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and Asthma Educators Association of Victoria.
